Backcountry Grit Expeditions isn’t just about the journey—it’s about discovering resilience, forging connections with the wild, and experiencing the backcountry in a way that feels safe, exciting, and deeply personal.

  • Welcoming to All: Whether you're new to outdoor adventure or a seasoned explorer, you belong here.

  • Rooted in Storytelling: Every trail, rock formation, and old cabin holds a story—let’s uncover them together.

  • Respectful & Conservation-Focused: We walk lightly on the land, honoring its history and the people who came before us.

  • Adventure with Purpose: More than just a guided trek—this is about building confidence, learning skills, and seeing the wilderness through an artist’s and naturalist’s eyes.

Our Story

Founder & Lead Guide of Backcountry Grit Expeditions

  • GRIT is more than a word—it’s my personal mantra. As a Wilderness First Responder-certified guide, I combine resilience, adventure, and education to create transformative outdoor experiences. Whether we’re summiting a high-elevation peak, navigating remote backcountry trails, or learning to see the landscape through an artist’s eye, every journey with Backcountry Grit Expeditions is designed to challenge, inspire, and reconnect us to the wild.

I’ve led youth groups on wilderness treks and hikes in the Bighorns, incorporating character-building, art, and outdoor education. My passion for exploration has taken me across the Western U.S.—from Washington’s rugged ranges to the deserts of New Mexico, and the high cliffs and trails of Moab. I’ve logged thousands of miles on my bike and in my hiking boots, always seeking new trails and deeper connections with the land.

With a Master’s in Education and Art, I’ve worked with educational institutions and public schools to bring the outdoors into the classroom, collaborated with conservation groups across the state, and shared my artistic vision through work displayed at the Teton Science School and the University of Wyoming.
